There is not much I can say about the recent EXTREME GEOCACHING OUTING. I will have to let the pictures do the talking.
So I was fortunate enough once again to be good buds with Scott and get invited to a Paul McCartney concert for the second time. What else can you say? It's Sir Paul McCartney and he rocked the house as usual. As a result, I dusted off my old Beatles album and have let my stereo continue to remind me how awesome they are. After the concert we went out with his parents and drank some good beers and listened to good conversation.
There is nothing wrong with building forts at the age of 25. It's also pretty cool when you have John Wayne singing campfire songs and being your lookout man.
I read this article a while back but I guess it just recently was published in The Register-Herald in West Virginia. It's about my Grandfather from my Mom's side who we call, Granddad, who was quite the football coach. He passed away in December of 1985 so I don't remember too much, but I do remember sitting on the floor in front of his rocking chair and him teaching me how to tie a shoelace. My dad played for him at Port Arthur and always refers to him as "coach" which I always get a kick out of. He said the way he use to work them in practice would be illegal today. I don't know if that one of those "Son, I use to walk 10 miles barefoot in the snow to school everyday" stories or not. Whatever Granddad did seemed to work b/c I don't think he had too many losing seasons. Today, he is referred to as a "legend" which to me is pretty amazing and an honor to have him as my Grandfather. There are always the small things that remind me of him. For instance, the awesome chairs for my kitchen table were originally from the press box at the University of Kentucky. Even one of the coaches at my middle school knew him well. There is even a rumor going around that some of his daughters got football scholarships to college! Maybe that explains why my Mom is the biggest sports fan out of all the Pace's. If you are interested you should check this article out...
Brian and I found it necessary to make a day trip to Old Town Spring this afternoon. Its always been right down the street but neither of us had been in there in a while. We went their primarily for the Civil War museum. The war buff with the 1 foot white beard asked if I was in to Reenactments, I of course said "heck yes I am"! He told me a few quick stories and then invited us out to this years HUGE reenactment near Hempstead this weekend. Get this, 2 battles both starting at 2 pm Sat/Sun. Were so going. I was hoping to campout but I guess that is not an option. BTW, I know very little about the Civil War.
Finally got to do some geocaching back home here in Houston. Took some newbies out with me a few nights ago, and let's just say the geocaching bug bit them pretty nicely. Since it was night I took them to some local "classics" and we attempted to find a new one but failed. I had them dress appropriately, which I am confident paid off in the end.
Skittles Pace has been our cat for for about 11 years and is by far the coolest cat in the world. Yes she likes to bite little children but hey... what cool cat wouldn't? Skittles can be somewhat "high strung" and has been diagnosed with Kitty OCD. See, Skittles honestly thinks that my parent's house is really HER house and we are all just visiting She has been working on her niceness but still doesn't care for the vet. On her medical sheet they have big red letters stating to be careful when handling. Yesterday, I was the lucky one to take her to the vet and found myself backing away from the operating table inching closer to the door because I was scared of what she might do. That's pretty bad when you are scared of your own pet when she comes out into public. Hey! That's kinda how my parents feel about me when they bring me out. Anyways, Skittles acted the best she has every acted at the vet last night and I am very happy, she only hissed at the vet. Usually, she freaks out and the vet has to put on gloves and throw a towel over here, its bad. Man, when I am in Htown on time off I really have to dig hard for a sweet blog.
Josh, Alan, Kim and I went to the funniest concert I have ever attended. Stephen Lynch was hillarious. His humor is pretty sick and twisted so if you are easily offended then I would definitely avoid him. He already has a few cds out and just came out with another one.
Ok, I'll be the first to admit that I have been making fun of this myspace.com thing for a long time now. However, as of yesterday I cannot get enough of it! I have been working on this profile thing and browsing/stalking people all day long. I am not taking it too seriously as you will be able to see once you click on the link below, but I think its just the whole all about ME thing that is addicting j/k (no I'm not). I don't see myself actually meeting people on this thing, just making a few people laugh would be more ideal.
Since that old fart Lance Armstrong retired, Big George Hincapie is going to be one of the Discovery Team leaders this year at the Tour. I mean the guy can already get a top ten while helping Lance win it, now he is going to be one of the protected riders. The French better get their fake-positive drugs tests ready to go, because its go time! I bet he can smell they podium girl's French perfume already.
I don't do political posts or anything that could be controversial which this really isn't. However, reading my daily dose of CNN (browsing through headlines) I came across this guy...

This is a belated post and actually happened in Fort McMurray, Alberta right before I left, but hey, watcha gonna do?
So I just got back from Fort McMurray, Alberta, a place I had never heard of before, and now it is on the front page of the Houston Chronicle.
...Don't do it on I45 at 3am because it will take the cops 1.5 hrs to show up!
Eric asked me while back how many different places I had lived after High School. I said, "Wow Eric, that is a great question!"
